Yesterday, I went to buy some books, in Arabic language.
I entered in a bookstore and I started my research. Dictionaries in different languages, French, English, Italian, Spanish, Indian …
After them, the novels… I started reading the titles. Actually, I tried to read the titles, but…
It was looking for familiar words and… Nothing. I couldn’t recognize even one word. I couldn’t understand for what was this book about.
Of course my problem is my level in Arabic language, but not even one word?
I felt awful and automatically thought: “how is the life of an analphabet?”
How does he walk to the streets without knowing is which street they are? How does he read the signs? How does…
I know that in our life there are many other problems more important than this.
But for me that I grow up between books and writing and having an enormous appetite to learn, this is something that shocks me.
It was me against the words and they defeated me. “I fought the word and the word won”.
How is life without the alphabet? I don’t know. Just anyone of you, try to think (just for a minute) how many times in a day needs to read something. Or write. But especially how many times you need to read?
What is the result? Too many times, ehhh?
How does an analphabet read the news? How does he dream through the letters?
It is impossible for them to share the information, the wisdom, the common daily needs.
There was a period in my life, that I was feeling stressed, when I couldn’t read any written text I had in my hands: Arabic, Thai, German, French, Chinese…
And this period realized the importance of the “reading and writing”, the importance of the alphabet, of “A-B”.
Just to letters, even in one language -our mother language- are enough to make our life better. Two letters are enough to help us live in a different way.
And us I have already said, no one can easily control educated people. It is not new that many governments leave their own people without education for obvious reasons: they are easily controlled.
But unfortunately for them, “A-B” is here and passing the time it becomes stronger than any government, controlled politics, moral prejudices and stubbornness.
“A-B Über Alles”!
Isn’t it GOOD LUCK?
