Pleased to meet you Mr. Hornby

I met Nick Hornby by accident. It seems that the adverb “accidentally” is something that determine my life.
One day, I entered in a bookstore and I was looking for books.
I didn’t knew this writer, but I saw the title “High Fidelity”. The last years, for several reasons, I don’t go to the movies, but I learn everything about the movies from the magazines and the newspapers.
I knew that this was the title of a movie and I said: “why not? Maybe he will be a new friend”. This is the feeling I have for the writers, they are all my friends. As I read since I was 14, these guys are an intimate circle that speaks to my mind and my heart. They are always there, when I am tired, when I am happy, when I am sad, when I loose my courage… Anytime! Like doctors.
On my way home, I usually open my new books and read some pages.
From the first pages I loved this man.
He has a simple, genius way to write, describing the feelings and the situation with an extremely good way. Everyday stories with everyday heroes.
His language is normal, no verbalism or difficult meanings, but he’s great! And he has the sense of humor too. WHAT A COMBINATION.
And his optimism, oh Lord his optimism. You read his books and you regret for every time you had said “I give up” in your life.
“How can he be so optimist?” my friend Hwba asked me one day.
“Maybe because he has an autistic son” I answer to him “and that means that he understand the life in a different way. He doesn’t leave the small things to torture him”.
His books are lessons of life for everyone.
Of course it is not necessary to tell that I bought all his books “Pinch Fever”, “About a boy”, “How to be good”, “A long way down”, Slam” (all them printed) and “Juliet, Naked” (e-book).
Now you can understand why I celebrate when Arsenal wins. Because my friend, Nick Hornby is happy (he is a supporter of Arsenal).
Nick Hornby changed my life and when I forget to be optimist, he publishes a new book.
Write about your favorite books, told me Mr. Winter when he created my blog. And it was not an accident, that I introduce you Mr. Winter paralleling out meeting with another one from Nick Hornby’s book.

Isn’t it GOOD LUCK?

PS. Pleased to meet you Mr. Hornby and I am very sorry the I discover you so late.
I hope that you will forgive me.
