Traveling by trains

I always wanted a car, but I never had it. So I travel with planes, buses, taxis, friends cars and trains.
Actually I don’t like buses or trains, but I like traveling with buses and trains.
No, I am not crazy, but, you know, all my life I work a lot and my problem is that I don’t have time to clean my mind and to fill it with new ideas, new pictures, new impulses.
I have this opportunity only when I travel.
I always have a book with me -today for example, in my 2 hours trip I had with me “El manuscripto de la pierda” (Luis García Jambrina)- and I always start to read, but after some pages, I stop and I start dreaming…
…the time that pass doing nothing or doing too much. How it would be my life if… or if not.
I don’t know! As the train runs you see fields, villages, people, children play in the street, men drinking tea in the coffee shops, laundries in the terraces, ugly lanscapes, river, garbage…
You see life! Just one hour and you can take an idea for the place you visit.
You see people stay and look at the train, maybe because they want to be the next passengers, but they cannot.
Especially in small villages the holidays that many people wait for someone to visit them, you can see the immense loneliness of the county.
People that they hope and maybe some day these hopes become true!
After all these emotions and with new way of thinking, you come back to your problems, but you see that now is not so much big as you think. Why?
Because you are already in the train, driving your life. And even if you don’t like this route, you can turn the wheel in the way you want.
Generally when we see some miserable or hard scenes, the first thing that pass from our mind is “oh, come on, my situation is better”.
Now, as far as concern your own private problems, when you have so many time to think them during the trip, you think about them widely.
Not only one option, but there’s this way too, and –what a surprise- another way and another parameter.
So finally, at the end of your trip, you found the time that you don’t have during your normal daily life to think. And your benefit is double.

You don’t only find time to think normally and widely, but you see the real life of real people that makes you change your mind about many things?

Who is the one that will see a farmer with his feet naked cultivate his land under the hot sun or a cold winter day without any protection and he will think that there’s another way of life too?

When I first met Mr. Winter and I said to him that I want to learn his language, he sant me a photograph of some fisherman and he said to me “If you want to learn the my language, you have to meet real people”. A very useful advice!

Isn’t it GOOD LUCK!

  1. Travailing for me is one of my ways to cleaning my mind and rethinking , when you meet new people faces and talk with them (with all respect)by forgetting about them educational and backgrounds of them, sure they will erase something from your mind or your heart (an old idea, hate for someone) and fill it with new one parallel with love .
Nice one Farah thank you and thanks to Mr. winter.

  2. "Caminante, no hay camino. Se hace camino al andar" Antonio Machado.

That means "Walker, there's no path. You create the path exactly the same moment you put your foot on the street". That means that the street learns you things about life and about your personal limits and powers.
